Advanced Passenger Information

The governments of various countries require Qatar Airways to collect Advance Passenger Information from passengers prior to travel. We will only provide each country's Customs and Immigration authorities with the relevant information. Some governments require airlines to provide them with direct access to airline passenger bookings (PNRs) which may contain other passenger data. It is important that the information you provide is accurate to ensure no delay in the immigration process upon your arrival in these countries.

Check-in

Qatar Airways offers the following tips to help speed your way to an on-time departure:

• · Keep your tickets and passport/visa documents handy
• · Report to the Qatar Airways check-in counter on-time
• · Proceed to the security checks, ensuring you are not bringing any prohibited items with you
• · Proceed to our waiting lounge with tickets and passport readily available for collection

The check-in counter closes at least one hour prior to departure, thus it is imperative that you arrive to check-in for your flight ontime. Under an hour, both the flight and baggage check-in are subject to closure. The gate normally closes 20 minutes prior to departure. This could vary depending on your departure airport.

Qatar Airways staff are trained to provide quick & efficient check-in. If passengers require any special assistance to their departure gates, we will be happy to escort you to the gate. If your travel takes you through Doha, Qatar for a connection flight, you will be met by representatives to assist you with flight connections upon arrival in Doha.

Premium Passengers

Passengers travelling in Qatar Airways First Class and Business Class can expect to experience 5-star hospitality from the ground-up. With this in mind, we are proud to offer our dedicated Premium Terminal in Doha. For your safety and the safety of those around you, Qatar Airways enforces the following carry-on allowances. Please be aware that in few instances, governments & airports could apply more stringent conditions.

• · Transatlantic travel refers to travel to and from the Americas on Qatar Airways.

International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommends all liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols of up to 100 ml be carried in one transparent and re-sealable plastic bag to a maximum capacity of 1 litre. The transparent bag's dimensions should not exceed 20 cm x 20 cm or 8 in. x 8 in. Containers over 100 ml will not be accepted even if only partly filled. You may be required to produce your clear transparent bag of liquids separately for security screening.

There are no restrictions on baby food and required medications. It may be necessary for you to produce a medical certificate or doctor's prescription in order to bring medication onboard.

Mishandled Baggage

At Qatar Airways, over 99% of checked baggage is claimed by our passengers immediately following their flight. However, for the exceptional case when your checked baggage does not arrive with you, you can be assured that we will do everything possible to locate your items and return it to you promptly.

If your baggage is missing, it is extremely important that you file a report at the Qatar Airways baggage services counter at your arrival airport. You will then be given a baggage tracing number, which you can use to track the status of your baggage claim. Onboard Qatar Airways, there is no limit to the amount of entertainment for the little ones. The Oryx inflight entertainment system features leading video games, dedicated children’s channels and cartoons to keep the young ones entertained.

On long haul flights, we provide the Oryx Flyer backpacks crammed full with fun for kids of all ages. Our special pre-ordered children’s meal box will make meal time a fun experience. For children aboard Qatar Airways, half the fun is getting there!

Unaccompanied minors on Qatar Airways

With Qatar Airways, you will not have to worry if your child is travelling alone. We offer one of the best services for unaccompanied children.

Escort Service is available to children between the ages of 3-5 years old. Qatar Airways Escort accompanies children between these ages all through their trip.

Children travelling with us receive special care and assistance throughout their trip including the immigration processes. Upon arrival we make sure that the appointed family or friend is there to pick them up

Thank you, the Qatar staff were great the pilots even better.  I have a fright for height and confined spaces the staff moved me to the front row when I asked if it was open with no problem.  And as if the pilots knew they landed so smooth that half the time I was bracing myself for the lift off or landing when it was done already. I can really recommend them.  

The airport is also customer friendly with rest rooms and Quiet rooms where you can lay down and sleep to wait out time. Clean and neat.
