Background
Air Namibia (Pty) Limited - the national airline of Namibia has been flying passengers under its
current and previous name “Namib Air” for over 50 years.
Fleet and Route Network
Air Namibia operates scheduled flights on Domestic, Regional and Intercontinental routes.
A340 300 aircrafts, operate long haul intercontinental flights between Windhoek and Frankfurt (4
return flights per week) and London Gatwick (3 return flights per week).
Boeing 737-200s, are used on regional flights between Windhoek and Johannesburg & Cape Town, (South Africa), and Luanda (Angola).
Beechcrafts 1900s, pressurized 19 seater aircrafts, used between Windhoek International airport and Maun, (Botswana) and Victoria Falls, (Zimbabwe) as well as on daily domestic flights operated from Windhoek’s Eros Airport to Ondangwa, Katima Mulilo, Walvis Bay, Luderitz, Oranjemund.
Routes
Currently, Air Namibia operates three flights a week to London Gatwick and four flights a week to
Frankfurt, affording Air Namibia to offer DAILY flights between Windhoek and Europe. Our flights to and from Europe have very good and convenient connections to Johannesburg & Cape Town (South Africa).
Hosea Kutako International airport is about 35 kilometers from the city center.

Onboard A340-300 operated on international routes, we offer special meals such as Kosher, Hindu, Oriental, Sea-food, Vegetarian, Halaal, Diabetic, Kiddies and infant/baby meals.
There are beverage facilities, electronic devices and entertainment facilities.
Special provision is made for disabled passengers needing assistance such as wheelchairs as well as to minor (5 – 12 years) traveling unaccompanied. For babies up to 7 months, there is a bassinet (sky cot). Passengers should indicate their special requirements when making a booking or at least 72 hours before departure.
A first-aid kit is also carried for the convenience of all passengers.
Feedback and Acclaim
Air Namibia won the 2000 Iwanowski Onboard Award for Excellence in Service and Quality and in two consecutive years, namely 2004 & 2005 Air Namibia has also been awarded the Regional Best Airline in Southern Africa.
Promotion of tourism
Air Namibia works in close co-operation with the Namibia Tourism Board, the Tour and Safari
Association (TASA), the Hotel Association of Namibia (HAN), the Federation of Namibian Tourism Associations (FENATA) to promote Namibia as a destination worldwide.
This is done through educational visits to Namibia by international agents and journalists and through participation in Trade Shows such as the World Travel Market in London, the ITB in Berlin the INDABA in Durban South Africa and the Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Shows.
Membership and Back systems
Air Namibia is a full member of IATA, encompassing all important Interline Revenue Clearing House (ICH). The airline also participates in the Bank Settlement Plan in Southern Africa, the United Kingdom and Germany for the effective settlement of travel agents’ accounts.
CARGO SERVICES
Our range of cargo services include transportation of fresh fish, fresh flowers, vegetables, fruits live animals, spare parts, hunting trophies and all other general cargo types. We possess considerable experience in handling of dangerous goods and valuable consignments.
We serve the following routes to and from Windhoek: Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Luanda, Victoria Falls, Maun as well as various destinations within Namibia.
Equally, Air Namibia cargo services operates dedicated “Trucking” services between Windhoek, Johannesburg and Gaborone for bulky consignments which cannot be fitted on board the Boeing 737-200 flights.
Rewards (Frequent Flyers Scheme)
Air Namibia’s frequent flyers programme “Rewards” earns you free tickets, discounted airfares or upgrades. Rewards cuts the red tape. There are no “clubs” to register with. No frequent flyer statements. No arguments about flights and miles that have gone missing. All you have to do is, collect the boarding passes of your Air Namibia flights – including those you did since the beginning of 2004. When you have enough to qualify, claim your rewards from your local Air Namibia office.
